Marlo Turner Ritchie, Founder and Principal Consultant

Marlo has twenty years of experience in bilingual management and governance in the non-profit sector, working with diverse teams to deliver programs related to health and social services, housing, legal services and more. As the former Executive Director of Head & Hands (2004-2011), a youth organization based in NDG, Marlo understands the challenges and opportunities that come with leadership in the face of pressing community needs.

The experience she has cultivated as a board member of COCo (Centre for Community Organizations) and through the Executive "Leadership Rassembleur" training program (Centraide du Grand Montreal) has given her invaluable tools and knowledge to build her clients∙e∙s organizational capacity. Marlo is part of a team that created and taught a new certificate program for NPO leadership at John Abbott College.

Marlo leads engagements in strategic planning, leadership coaching, governance, fundraising, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as the design and facilitation of collective processes. When she is not consulting with non-profits, cooperatives, foundations, coalitions and public sector teams, she volunteers with community-based social justice organizations including the Réseau des Ruches d'Art and the Unitarian Church of Montreal.

Marlo founded Social Impact Consulting / Conseil Impact Social in 2015 and has worked with over 150 organizations on a range of projects since then. She enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, and exploring the city and participating in community events with her partner and son.

Social Impact Consulting acknowledges that we are located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. Today, it is home to diverse communities of Indigenous and other peoples. We respect the continued connections with the past, present, and future in our ongoing relationships between Indigenous peoples and other peoples within the Montreal community.
