Job posting: Communications and Administrative Coordinator

  • $30 / hour for 5 - 10 hours per week, hybrid, contract work, possibility of permanency after probationary period.  The number of hours per week will depend on the candidate’s availability.  The candidate must be available at least two days per week between 9-5pm.  Some tasks can pay up to $50 / hour if they are client-facing and fit into our approved contracts.  

  • Interview schedule: Must be available for an interview between Thursday the 10th at 9 am - Friday the 11th at 7 pm, EST (virtually or in-person in NDG)

  • Start date: Monday, September 14th (can be a progressive start, but ideally the candidate is available for a full day of training on the 14th)

Social Impact Consulting / Conseil impact social is a small consulting business based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal (Québec). The founder, Marlo Turner Ritchie (she/elle), is a former Executive Director of three non-profit organizations in Quebec (Project 10, Head & Hands and L’Abri en Ville). In 2015, she decided to put on a new hat and started consulting with sector organizations. Since then, she and her team have worked with over 225 non-profits, charities, foundations, social enterprise orgs and public sector teams on a range of projects. Top mandates include: strategic planning, executive coaching, fundraising, governance, JEDI, human resources, process design & facilitation and charity status applications. Marlo has also done extensive volunteer work and is involved in grassroots anti-racist, community arts, and political organizing. All of our team members have past experience in non-profit leadership, and we currently have seven team members, including external collaborators.  

Our team is currently looking for someone who can bring skill, energy and vision to the role of Communications and Administrative Coordinator. The outgoing leader in this position will be available to support the onboarding and training process.  

Administrative skills and experience

  • 2-3 years in Administrative support / Coordination / Project Management roles

  • Must be comfortable working with Google Workspace

  • Experience and comfort using Google Gemini, Granola and/or other AI tools

  • Familiarity with Asana is an asset

  • Familiarity with Hubspot / ability to learn this platform quickly is a requirement.

  • Other project-management / CRM software experience is an asset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced role, while juggling multiple tasks and deadlines 

Communications skills and experience

  • 2-3 years in Communications / Social Media Management 

  • Previous experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, web, newsletters (MailerLite) etc.

  • Experienced with Canva design software

  • Solid knowledge of social marketing strategies and best practices

General skills and competencies

  • Deeply committed to social justice and anti-oppression, with previous experience working with marginalized communities

  • Very strong time management and organizational skills

  • Passionate about learning new tools and systems, and helping teams to increase their effectiveness

  • Previous and/or current work and/or volunteer experience in the non-profit sector in Quebec.

  • Based in Montreal or Quebec is an asset

  • Solution-oriented

  • Proactive, takes initiative

  • Bilingualism is an asset (ability to produce social media content in English and French adapted to non-profit leaders in Quebec)
